Recap of All Star Weekend



Another great All Star weekend in New Orleans. It lasted hosted the All Star game in 2008 which lifted the city after the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. The 2014 All Star game didn't disappoint, and all the big stars were out to see the NBA's best put their talents on display.

It all started Friday night with the Rising Stars Game, with the upcoming talent of the NBA on display. Team hill outlasted Team Webber 142-136, and Detroit Pistons Andre Drummond was the MVP of the game. Saturday night was filled with highlights from some of the most athletic players in the association. Rookie Trey Burke and Damian Lillard won the Skills Challenge, by one one-hundrenth of a second. San Antonio Spur Marco Belinelli won the 3-point shootout, with a great shooting display outlasting Bradley Beal. John Wall won the main event of the night the Sprite Dunk Contest. With his jaw-dropping dunk over the Washington Wizards mascot G-Man! Saturday's nights festivities didn't disappoint.

All Star Sunday was a great game, with the NBA's best showing their talents off. Blake Griffin with his monster dunks, and Carmelo Anthony with his record breaking 7 3-pointers. The All Star scoring record was in jeopardy as well with Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin both scoring 38 points. The East with a late rally in the 4th quarter outlasted the West 163-155, and Kyrie Irving was named MVP with 31 points and 14 rebounds.

The All Star weekend was a success and "The Big Easy,"lived up too its name!
