Tough Times
Coming off the All Star break the Thunder have fell on tough times. With getting blown out by the Heat their first game back from the All Star game, and then the Thunder losing a close one to the Clippers on Sunday. I was their to witness the Clippers game first hand, and the Thunder are still trying to get their rhythm back with Russell Westbrook.Being out for almost 2 months Westbrook is still trying to find his shot, but with any great player it just comes with more reps and game time experience. Reggie struggled with his shot Sunday, and with Perkins getting hurt against the heat the Thunder were already short handed against the Clippers.
Breaking news today Kendrick Perkins had successful groin surgery, and he will be out for the next 6 weeks. Perkins is planned to return to action around the 1st round of the playoffs. A lot of people in Oklahoma seem to hate Perkins and want to get rid of him, but Perkins does a great job defending the bigs in the Western Conference. With his injury now rookie center Steven Adams will start in place of him, and will have to give the Thunder big minutes. Adams has shown some great signs this season, but starting for the best team in the West is filling some pretty big shoes.
The Thunder are on a 6 game home stand right now, and they are 0-2 so far on the stand. With some Eastern Conference opponents coming in the next few games, the Thunder have some great chances to get some great team chemistry with Adams
